5 November 2024 10:00am - 11:30am, Online, Free

About this focus group

NZQA is developing updated guidance and resources to help providers better understand the requirements of the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 (the Code) related to offshore learners.

To support this project, we are hosting several focus groups on the Code and offshore learners.

The aim of this focus groups is to gain insights on:

  • the common types of offshore delivery arrangements and characteristics of offshore learners
  • the applicability of the Code in offshore jurisdictions, and
  • any concerns, issues or challenges practitioners face in trying to give effect to the Code in offshore jurisdictions to support the wellbeing and safety of offshore learners.

The focus group will run for around 1.5 hours.

Who is this focus group for?

We want to hear directly from practitioners and education providers working in international education or who support offshore learners.

The insights gathered from these focus groups will be shared with the sector and inform future capability building and resource development.

If you are a practitioner in this area, or have experience that you would like to share, please register to join us. You can choose from any of the 3 focus groups to participate in. Space is limited to 10 participants per focus group.
