Supported Learning standards are foundational-level standards that support learners who need extra assistance with their learning, either through additional resources, specialised equipment, or adapted teaching programmes. The standards are not intended to count towards NCEA qualifications as they are not set at the same level of The New Zealand Curriculum.
From 2025, credits gained from achieving Supported Learning unit standards will no longer be eligible to contribute to the award of NCEA Level 1. This exclusion applies to all standards in the Community and Work Skills - Supported Learning - Personal, Community and Work Skills Domain, currently 29299-29310, 32927 and 32929 (external link).
