NCEA and NZ Scholarship exams end for 2025

28 November 2025

NCEA and New Zealand Scholarship exams for 2025 have come to an end this morning, with around 154,000 students across New Zealand, the Cook Islands and Niue demonstrating the skills and knowledge they learned throughout the year.

“To all the students, congratulations on your hard work. I hope you have a safe and relaxing summer,” says NZQA Deputy Chief Executive Assessment, Jann Marshall.

“I also acknowledge the immense effort of teachers, whānau, and schools in supporting this journey,” Jann Marshall says.

Students will be able to access their NCEA results through the NZQA learner login on 14 January 2026, and to see their assessed NCEA exam papers online from 20 January 2026.

New Zealand Scholarship results will be available on 10 February 2026, along with assessed exam papers.

In preparation for the release of results, NZQA’s secure Student Login will be unavailable from 9 January until results are available.

NZQA understands that the period between exams and results can be filled with anticipation - and sometimes anxiety. To help students manage this time, we encourage the following:

  • Take time to recharge: Celebrate your hard work and enjoy the summer break.
  • Talk it out: Whether it’s with whānau, friends, or a trusted teacher, sharing your thoughts can ease the pressure.
  • Explore your options: If your results aren’t what you hoped for, there are still pathways forward - see the information on NZQA’s website (external link).
  • Reach out for support: Services like Youthline (0800 376 633), 1737 (call or text), and What's Up (0800 942 8787) are available for confidential support.

“We recommend students check their login details for NZQA’s Student Login (external link) before Christmas, so they won’t need to find their details or reset their password on release day,” Jann Marshall says.
