Updated: New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

26 January 2026

We have been notified that the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (NZSATCM) is closing. We understand this is a stressful time for affected learners.

New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine (NZCCM) is the only NZQA-registered provider in New Zealand offering similar programmes to NZSATCM. NZCCM can accommodate enrolments from affected NZSATCM students.

NZSATCM learners who wish to continue their studies, should contact NZCCM directly.  Contact details are in the email sent to NZSATCM students on 23 January.

Please note that NZCCM’s programmes are not identical to those offered by NZSATCM. This means learners need to complete NZCCM’s Recognition of Prior Learning process, should they choose to enrol in an NZCCM programme. This also means that there may be an impact on costs and expected study times.

We have contacted learners directly with additional information and support. Learners with questions can email closuresupport@nzqa.govt.nz
