Results for 2025 New Zealand Scholarship released

10 February 2026

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has released the results of the 2025 New Zealand Scholarship examinations.

Across 39 subjects, 2,740 students achieved one or more scholarships.

NZQA’s Deputy Chief Executive Assessment, Jann Marshall, says New Zealand Scholarship represents the highest academic achievement for secondary school students.

“Scholarship challenges students to apply advanced critical thinking, abstraction, and generalisation skills,” says Ms Marshall.

Students who receive a Scholarship can qualify for a financial award when they continue tertiary study in New Zealand.

“We are proud of all the students who have reached this outstanding milestone,” says Ms Marshall.

Students can check their results – including whether they have earned a Premier Award, Outstanding Scholar Award, or Top Subject Scholar Award – on the NZQA website.

The names of Premier Award, Outstanding Scholar Award, and Top Subject Scholar Award winners will be published on the NZQA website tomorrow afternoon.
