NZQA’s revised fees schedule came into effect on 1 January 2026. Please ensure you review the updated fees structure to understand how it applies to your organisation.
Here is a summary of the key changes to the fees structure:
From 1 January 2026:
- the professional services fee is increased to $240 + GST per hour
- set fees apply for some approval services
- the hourly professional services fee applies to applications not suited to set fees
- the credit reporting fee is reduced to $1.10 per credit + GST
- Any application that was underway prior to 1 January 2026 will continue to be charged at the previous professional services fee.
From 19 January 2026:
- the credit reporting fee is extended to all qualifications.
We are currently working with a TEO reference group to resolve technical issues related to the updated credit reporting fee.
