What candidates registered on time receive
Candidates entered for an externally assessed exam before 1 September 2022 will receive:
- their 2022 Exams Admission Slip
- a Candidate Information Sheet (External Assessment – Rules and Instructions for Candidates).
These materials will be delivered to schools from 19 October 2022 in cartons labelled ‘NZQA Admission Slips’.
- Exams Admission Slips are sorted by candidate surname and also by any sort keys you may have provided with your school data, such as by form group. In some cases, the Exams Admission Slip may be two pages long.
- Exams Admission Slips are printed with a colour divider denoting the start of a new sort key.
- The sort key is printed on the divider in large font.
Exams Admission Slips are not in envelopes.
School Actions
- Hand out the Exams Admission Slips to the candidates as soon as possible. Then have candidates check and confirm that their entries are correct.
- If entries are missing, follow the late entry process detailed in the email sent from your School Relationship Manager on Monday 12 September 2022.
- Ensure that candidates can login using their NZQA Student Login. Candidates will need to:
- create an account (if new to NCEA) or check their NZQA Student Login
- check their address. If a change of address is required, you must make the necessary changes on your SMS and submit a data file to NZQA immediately. This will ensure any portfolios/workbooks (where applicable) are returned to the candidate’s correct address in February 2023.
- School leavers should ensure they update their NZQA login details with a personal email they can continue to access after they leave school.
- Remind candidates to keep their Exams Admission Slip in a safe place and to bring it to every exam. They must not write on it or share it with anyone.
Late entries
Late entries made after 1 September will not show on a candidate’s original Exams Admission Slip. You will need to print and a copy from your school’s NZQA Provider login page www.nzqa.govt.nz/login (Reports, Exam Reports link) from 19 October 2022. This must be signed by the Principal’s Nominee.
Replacement Exams Admission Slips
If candidates need a new Exam Admission Slip, you will need to print and sign a copy from your school’s NZQA Provider login.
Please note candidates can reprint their Exams Admission Slip through their NZQA Student Login. The Principal’s Nominee must also sign this copy.
Return of marked NCEA and NZ Scholarship exam booklets
If candidates sit an NCEA or NZ Scholarship exam, their assessed exam can be accessed through their NZQA Learner Login in late January/February. It is important your candidates create an NZQA Learner Login account if they do not have one, so that they can see their marked booklet.
