Code workshops

We host a range of workshops and information sessions designed to support better understanding of the Code and to further build the capability of schools to meet their obligations under the Code.

Our workshops in 2025 will focus on providing more tailored information on the Code, such as:

  • Code 101 for school signatories—an in-depth look at the Code and Code implementation, geared towards school leaders or those responsible for overseeing Code implementation and compliance.
  • The Code and homestay—an overview of the Code’s requirements on accommodation for international school learners and their relation to homestays.

These workshops are meant to complement the ongoing training and resources provided by a school.

The first, in partnership with Otago Polytechnic, will be on Friday 16 May 2025 at Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin. The symposium aims to assist practitioners with their tailored support of diverse student bodies (including international students, new settlers, and refugee-background learners). The symposium will include sessions for both school-based and tertiary education practitioners.
