NZQA has now updated key dates, to reflect the changes made to help mitigate the impact of Covid-19.

General administration and data
Candidate NSN Cards
These were dispatched to schools on Wednesday 22 June. Please email Lise.Nansen@nzqa.govt.nz if you have not received the cards for your school.
Learning Recognition Credits
New Learning Recognition Credits (LRCs) are available for credits earned in 2022 and supplement any LRCs earned in the past. For example, a student may receive 8 Level 3 LRCs this year in addition to any Level 3 LRCs gained in previous years. LRCs gained in previous years can also be used towards a qualification in 2022, if they meet the qualification requirements.
LRCs cannot be awarded for a standard that a student has completed in a previous year, however. This is applicable to students repeating a standard to improve upon their initial grade. This is true even when the standard has a new version and credit differences.
Any 2022 LRCs earned will not be visible until the release of results in January 2023.

Please note the new literacy rich standards listed below are ONLY available for students enrolled in schools and kura involved in the NCEA pilots in 2021 and 2022.

Online Marking Assessor Judgments
Online Marking Assessor Judgement (OMAJ) courses for most NZC subjects are available for enrolment and completion in Term 3 and 4. These self-paced, digital courses provide teacher-assessors with the opportunity to review full samples of student work, award a grade and then compare their judgement with the moderator. Feedback from the sector has been positive, helping teachers to improve assessment practice.

Internal assessment administration
Online Assessor Support for Internally Assessed Standards
Online support materials are available through Pūtake, NZQA’s Learning Management System. This is accessed through a teacher’s Education Sector Login (ESL). The school’s ESL Delegated Authoriser needs to assign an NZQA LMS Teacher role to the teacher for them to gain access. For further help, contact the Ministry of Education Service Desk or use its online support.

External moderation
Physical Moderation Submissions and Addresses
To help manage email notifications containing moderator addresses, set up an email rule for messages from do-not-reply@notifications.nzqa.govt.nz. That way they will not end up in junk email boxes and get missed.
Please give moderators five days to send the request notification when you make a physical moderation submission.
Review of Achievement Standards (RAS)
Please check student entries in Assessment Master for RAS pilot subjects and Literacy/Numeracy. If students have moved into the subject, or have recently moved to your school, you should update your data file to ensure they are entered in the correct standards. After updating, re-send your data file to NZQA.
