Thank you for your continued support to help maintain the qualifications system in what is continuing to be a difficult time for all of us. In particular I extend my thanks to your staff who have adapted and adopted new ways of working, all the while striving to maintain quality assessment processes. Well done.
School Relationship Manager Vacancies
We are currently advertising for additional School Relationship Managers to join our team in 2022. One role will require expertise in te reo and tikanga Māori and to work productively with kura / wharekura communities. If you aren’t yet ready to make the commitment to leave teaching you may be interested in a secondment. Keep an eye out for the vacancies advertised in the Education Gazette and on the Careers Centre of our website.

Return of Material and Ordering Documents
Reminder for students - accessing NCEA end of year digital exams
Students who sat an NCEA exam are able to view their marked exam scripts online from 31 January until 30 June 2022.

Return of non-digital external assessment material
All NCEA material, including DVC portfolios and Technology reports, should have been returned to students or schools by mid-February. Please contact your School Relationship Manager as soon as possible if material is missing, so that we can locate this where possible. Marked NCEA exam scripts will not be returned by post this year but are available online as above.
Scholarship booklets will be returned once results have been released.

Ordering results documents
Students can order a copy of any documents for which they are eligible through their Learner Login. One free copy of each certificate is available.
Students should wait for the results of a Review or Reconsideration before ordering a certificate.
Reviews and Reconsiderations
Cut scores
Cut scores have been released and may be found at the relevant subject link here. These scores may help students in their decision about whether to request a Review or Reconsideration.
Review and Reconsideration applications for 2021 external exam results
It is advisable for students to talk to their teachers prior to applying for a Review or Reconsideration. All papers will be available within the student logon area as scanned copies.

New Zealand Scholarship results publication (external link)
Reconsideration applications for Level 3 and New Zealand Scholarship Visual Arts
These can also be completed from the Learner Login.
High-quality A4 coloured photographs and an authenticity declaration must be posted to NZQA. Scholarship applications must include both photographs and workbook. No portfolios are to be sent to NZQA.

The closing date for NCEA external exam Review and Reconsideration applications is Friday 25 February.
The closing date for Scholarship Review and Reconsideration applications is Friday 4 March.
Online Assessor Support
NZQA is providing free online support for teachers/kaiako who assess NCEA subjects. A range of resources and workshops are now accessible on Pūtake (NZQA’s Learning Management System). Teachers/kaiako can self-enrol, choose which resources or activities are of most relevance, and then work at their own pace.
What’s on offer and how do you access it?
Teachers/kaiako will need to use their Education Sector Logon (ESL) to access Pūtake. If they don’t have an ESL, they can talk to their school’s Delegated Authoriser. This person will also need to assign a NZQA LMS Teacher role for them to be able to access Pūtake.
There is a two-part video series – the first showing the types of e-learning modules available, and the second, how to access the free online Assessor Support content using the Education Sector Logon:

NCEA Online
Digital practice exams
Digital practice exams using NZQA’s online platform will be offered to schools from 15 August to 30 September. Kaiako/teachers will have access to the platform from 1 August until 15 October, allowing time for preparation and marking. This extended window will allow schools to pick a time that best suits them.
More information about what you need to know and do will be provided in coming months.
Leading National Assessment (LNA) seminar 2022
We are taking a different approach to the LNA seminars this year. In Term 1 we will be offering a series of huitopa online for you to sign up to, depending on your needs. Watch out for emails detailing what’s on offer.
In Term 2 we will host kanohi ki te kanohi regional hui, including seminars specifically for wharekura, and will send out information soon regarding dates.
Special Assessment Conditions
2022 Applications
New applications can be submitted for 2022. The first deadline for applications is the end of Term 1, 14 April. Any changes to SACs requested can be made during the rollover process if needed, even if these had previously been declined. The link to process rollovers of 2021 applications is available from 1 February.
Notification of Computer Use
The notification process for students who only want to use a computer for external exams can be accessed through the SAC online tool.
Update contact information
Please ensure that your SENCO details are updated in your school’s Contact information found on your Provider Login. This information is used to email updates to SENCOs.

- Ensure that teachers check the 2022 Assessment Specifications for their subject areas
- Ensure teachers check the 2022 exam calendar and assist students with any two- or three-way clashes

- Ensure any amendments or additions to 2021 internal results are made online by 28 February
- Update your SMS with the latest Results, Consents and Standards files
