Information for agents

New Zealand licensed immigration advisers and lawyers can apply for an agent account to submit IQA applications on behalf of their clients.

Who the agent portal is for

The agent portal is for New Zealand licensed immigration advisers and lawyers with a current practising certificate. Agents who qualify can use this portal to apply for and keep track of IQA applications submitted on behalf of their clients.

Register for an agent account

To use the agent portal, you will first need to register for an agent account. 

You will need to provide:

  • official photo ID (such as passport or driver’s licence)
  • your licence or practising certificate
  • your business email address
  • your phone number
  • your business name (or name of your employer)
  • your business address.

Note:

  • Your business email address will be used as your login for the agent portal. A verification code will be sent to this email address to verify and activate your agent account.
  • If you have existing accounts or applications with us, we can transfer these to your new agent account once it is set up.

Once you submit your registration, you won't be able change your personal details in your account. To make changes, contact us at:

We will process your application within 5 working days and contact you if we need further information and/or documentation.

Activate your agent account

If your application to register for an agent account is successful, you will receive an email with instructions on how to activate your agent account.

Register a client in your agent account

  1. Log into the online application portal using your agent login details. You will be redirected to the agent portal.

  2. On the 'My Applications' page, click the 'Add a New Applicant’ button.

  3. Enter your client's personal details and ensure you use your client's email address. NZQA will use this information to process applications.
  4. Upload a colour copy of your client’s passport bio page and evidence of name change (if applicable).
  5. Upload a completed authorisation form signed by your client.

  6. Click 'Submit'.

Your client will receive an email confirmation. 

Once registered, you can only update your client's phone number and address.

Submit an IQA application for your client

In the agent portal, click the 'Apply' button for the client you wish to submit an application for.

Make sure the 'Applicant Status' field shows 'Active' for your client as you can only submit applications when the status is active.
