How China recognises New Zealand qualifications

How NZQA works with China towards qualification recognition

How we work with China

We have a relationship with the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE), an agency under the Chinese Ministry of Education that verifies overseas qualifications.

CSCSE recognises foreign qualifications in China, including for:

  • Chinese graduates with foreign qualifications returning to China for work or further study
  • foreign nationals who want to work or study in China.

The CSCSE list of qualifications

The CSCSE maintains a list of overseas institutions. Institutions appear on the list if CSCSE has successfully verified a qualification from that institution for a student within the last 5 years.

New Zealand institutions cannot directly apply to the China Ministry of Education or CSCSE to be listed.

The CSCSE list replaces the Jiaoyu Shewai Jianguan Xinxiwang (JSJ) list.
