Welcome to the Assessment Support Materials for Mahinga Kai

Mahinga Kai develops skills, knowledge, and understanding in supporting whānau, hapū, iwi and hapori to preserve, enhance and promote mātauranga mahinga kai. Studies include application of appropriate tikanga and kawa in kai production, harvesting, and resource management.

The resources on this page are designed to help teachers and tutors assess ākonga against the relevant Mahinga Kai unit standards listed in the Directory of Assessment and Skill Standards (DASS).
