Accessing marked exams online

Information for students on how to access their marked exams online

Find your marked exams online

If you are a student sitting NCEA end-of-year exams, you can log in to MyNZQA from late January the following year and view your assessed digital or scanned paper exams online. You can view your assessed answers online until the end of June each year.

New Zealand Scholarship results are available from February.

We won’t return your paper-based exam booklets in the mail.

Physically submitted portfolios

Level 3 and NZ Scholarship Visual Arts portfolios

We will continue to mark Level 3 and NZ Scholarship Visual Arts assessments by hand and return the materials to students in the mail.

Design and Visual Communication portfolios

We will continue to mark design and Visual Communication assessments by hand and return the material to schools by courier.

We are gradually moving to digital marking using the online assessment platform. This is an important step forward in our digital assessment journey.

Create a MyNZQA learner account

If you don't already have a MyNZQA account, you'll need one to access your marked exams and assessments.

What you can do using your MyNZQA account

Your account lets you access a lot of information. You’ll use your account to:

  • complete your digital exams
  • access your results
  • access and print your School Results Summary and digital Record of Achievement
  • access your assessed NCEA and NZ Scholarships exams, whether they were completed digitally or on paper
  • download and print personalised Request Review applications forms for NCEA and NZ Scholarship reviews
  • apply online for NCEA reconsideration
  • order documents like NCEA certificates and your Record of Achievement.

The benefits of doing things online

There are lots of benefits to having an online account. You can:

  • view your marked exams sooner, and all in one place, together with any marked digital answers you produced
  • have a copy of the marked booklet you can share with your teacher
  • access faster and more efficient review and reconsideration processing, with NZQA holding a digital copy of your answer booklets
  • have greater confidence that your papers won't get lost, compared to marked papers being physically returned in the post
  • have digital access to your answers anytime, anywhere.
