Clarification details
Updated June 2016. This clarification has been updated to address issues that have arisen from moderation.
The standard requires students to evaluate two systems of government.
For Achieved, students are expected to evaluate one key element for each system of government. For example voting methods is a key element that could be used for both systems.
For Excellence, students are required to consider an implication for a strength and a weakness for both the New Zealand system and the other system. The implications can be from the following: future law making, societal development, civic engagement, economic development, or environmental development.
