Experiencing physical activity opportunities
It is expected that students will have experienced physical activity opportunities, in order to provide a context for personal reflection and explanation.
Examining the role and significance
Student responses must provide an examination that includes:
- how and why physical activity has a role in the lives of young people in New Zealand
- how and why physical activity has significance in the lives of young people in New Zealand
- specific examples to support the explanations, which should include personal experiences and research.
Examine in-depth
Student responses must provide a detailed explanation of how and why physical activity has a role and has significance in the lives of young people in New Zealand. This must include:
- a range of viewpoints, e.g. personal or other groups of young people
- how the range of viewpoints interrelate.
Critically examine
An inter-relationship between the role and significance of physical activity is required. For example, the role of competition and the importance of physical activity in the lives of young people.
