A number of achievement standards and supporting materials have been updated for assessment in 2026 following the Ministry of Education’s ongoing review and maintenance programme of the New Zealand Curriculum NCEA subjects across all three levels.
The changes are largely focused on improving clarity in the Explanatory Notes (ENs) of the standards.
External assessment material developed for assessment of expired achievement standards is still available on the NZQA website but should be used with caution. All affected materials have been tagged to notify teachers of their status.
