Following public consultation in 2025, NZQA will begin billing under the new fees framework from the end of May 2026. The first invoices will include charges for qualification completions loaded into NZQA systems between 19 January and 31 May. The credit fee and invoicing process for standard completions continues unchanged.
NZQA is extending the credit reporting fee to qualification completions to create a simpler and fairer fee structure across the tertiary education sector. Fees help cover the cost of NZQA’s core quality assurance activities and associated services that support confidence in New Zealand qualifications.
