Remembering Eve McMahon

It is with great sadness that the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) acknowledges the passing of Eve McMahon, former Deputy Chief Executive, Quality Assurance.

Eve McMahon, former Deputy Chief Executive, Quality Assurance Eve joined NZQA in 2007 to lead a targeted review of qualifications in New Zealand and became Deputy Chief Executive, Quality Assurance in 2019 before retiring from NZQA last year. During her time as Deputy Chief Executive, Eve supported the development of the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework, including the introduction of micro-credentials and skill standards in vocational education. With a sharp eye on quality, Eve was a passionate believer in lifelong learning, and shared her expertise in qualification systems willingly here in New Zealand and internationally.

A public celebration of Eve's life will be held at Old Saint Paul's, 34 Mulgrave Street, Wellington, on Friday 14 August at 11.00am.
