2024 Code self-review and attestation

The due date for 2024 attestation submissions for school signatories was 1 December 2024. We would like to thank those schools who completed their Code attestation on time.

Submitting the attestation is a Code requirement (see clause 89(4)(a)). If you haven’t submitted your attestation, you will have received an email and can expect further follow up from the team. Please make this submission as soon as possible.

We would like to thank you all for your continued commitment to supporting your international learners.

Supporting water safety over the summer

Summer is here and learners will be discovering and enjoying New Zealand’s beaches, lakes and rivers.

To support learner safety in and around water, we encourage you to promote water safety with your learners. There are multiple ways to raise awareness about staying safe in the water, but if you need any tips or resources for your learners, be sure to visit Water Safety New Zealand.

Supporting learners to be safe on the road

We also encourage you to promote road safety with your learners, particularly those who are not familiar with driving in New Zealand, so they are aware of the increased risks over the holiday period, and to support them to be safe on the road.

While not compulsory, it is strongly recommended to encourage your learners to have at least third-party insurance when driving around New Zealand. We also recommend encouraging your learners to let someone know of their travel plans in case any help or support is needed.
