2024 Code self-review and attestation
Under the Code, tertiary education providers must regularly review the quality of their learner wellbeing and safety practices under the Code. Providers then attest that self-review has taken place at a date set by NZQA.
Self-review is a core component of quality assurance and encourages providers to evaluate the effectiveness of their learner safety and wellbeing practices.
The dates for 2024 attestation submission are below:
- Attestations for PTEs and Wānanga are due 1 November 2024.
- Attestations for Universities are managed through a delegation to Universities New Zealand.
Tertiary providers will be asked to provide a URL link to their published self-review reports.
Further information on our 2024 Code self-review workshops and submitting your attestation will be shared in August.
Please visit the NZQA website for more information and resources to guide your self-review:

Supporting cross-border students symposium
In June, ISANA NZ partnered with ANZSSA and the University of Auckland to host the first Supporting cross-border students symposium. Its presentations facilitated stimulating conversations, connections and collaborative strategies around this topic.
ISANA NZ in partnership with the University of Canterbury are hosting another symposium on supporting cross-border students at the University of Canterbury on 2 September 2024.
The symposium will offer practical strategies, tips and tools relevant to tertiary education providers and schools who enrol cross-border learners.
