Excellence

Commentary

For Excellence, the ākonga is required to analyse key features of Te Ao Haka. 

This involves selecting five key features of Te Ao Haka, including wiri (1), takahi (2), pūkana (3) and two others (4 & 5) demonstrating these features (6) identifying what makes them distinctive (7). 

This also involves explaining the whakapapa of key features (8), including their history and development, and how their development contributes to their distinctiveness (9)  

The ākonga must also discuss iwi, hapū, or rohe variation in key features (10) examining why this variation occurs (11).
