Demonstrating understanding
The standard requires students to demonstrate understanding of how laws are made in New Zealand.
Criteria for Merit and Excellence
For Merit, the supporting detail can be one or more of the bullet point examples provided in the standard. Students do not need to describe all types of supporting detail suggested.
For Excellence, students need to use the supporting detail to compare two systems, and with more detail than that required for Merit.
