Review update

NZQA Māori Qualifications Services (MQS) invites feedback on the review of the suite of Environment Māori qualifications.

Proposed changes to the qualifications

Te Hiringa o te Taiao (Kaupae 4)

Change to NZSCED/Whakaraupapa classification to appropriately align it to Tikanga - Maori Customs and for consistency with Rūmakihia te Taiao (Kaupae 6).

Strategic purpose statements

Minor adjustments to align with relevant graduate level descriptors and better reflect the intention of the qualification.

Graduate profile outcomes (GPOs)

Updates to include the amendments of ngā mātāpono and minor amendments for clarity and relevance.

Changes for clarity and relevance in an Environment Māori context.

What’s next?

MQS will review all feedback received as part of the consultation and use it to inform any further amendment to the documents.

The qualifications will then be submitted to Quality Assurance Māori NZQA for evaluation through:
