How to apply online for programme approval, provider accreditation or both

Providers can apply online for programme approval and provider accreditation separately or at the same time in the MyNZQA providers portal.

NZQA will only accept applications from:

  • Te Pūkenga - New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology
  • wānanga
  • NZQA-registered private training establishments
  • government training establishments
  • secondary schools and kura.

How to apply online

  • Log in to the providers portal (external link)
  • Select TEO Applications
  • Create an application.
  • Select Programme Approval, Programme Accreditation or Programme Approval and Accreditation as needed. 
  • Click on contact details. The contact details page is pre-populated with your organisation’s details. Make any changes necessary to make sure the details are appropriate for the programme.
  • Fill out the online application form. You can find more information about filling out the form on this page.
  • On the supporting documents page, attach and upload your supporting documents. Full details on supporting documents are set out in the Guidelines, but include a programme documentation such as:
    • a programme document
    • consultation log
    • Graduate Profile Outcomes (GPO) mapping
    • component descriptors.
  • Submit the application.

After you submit

You'll receive an email with an NZQA reference number. Remember to include this NZQA reference number on all correspondence with us.

When your application is assigned to an evaluator, we'll let you know. You can expect this to happen within ten working days.
