About this follow-up consultation
In late 2024 we consulted on the high-level design of the draft integrated quality assurance framework (iQAF).

This follow-up consultation asks for your input on the design of the iQAF, it:
- provides more detail and invites feedback on the Approve, Self-Review, and Monitoring levers
- confirms key matters outlined in the 2024 consultation document
- proposes changes to some NZQA Rules to support both the iQAF and the government’s implementation of vocational education and training reforms.
Your feedback will help shape the final iQAF and guide its implementation.

What happens after consultation?
After the consultation closes at 11.59 pm on 26 September 2025, we will review the submissions and feedback.
We will publish a summary covering the feedback received and the actions we will take to address feedback.
After we make decisions on iQAF levers and activities and proposed rules changes, we will finalise the iQAF's design.
