Troubleshooting your login to Pūtake

Here are some tips to try if you're having trouble logging into Pūtake.

Make sure you are using this link to access Pūtake:

Schools and tertiary providers

Make sure your school or provider has given you access to Pūtake.

Ask the authorised delegator about this and what role you need.

Login error messages

‘The email address is already registered’

  1. Follow the steps in the ESL instruction:
    Download the ESL instructions [DOCX, 269 KB]
  2. Send the screenshot of your ESL Claim form to lms.help@nzqa.govt.nz.

‘To access Pūtake your ESL account needs to have the "Teacher" role assigned’

Make sure you have access through your school or provider.

Issues with your ESL login

Other users (non-ESL)

Retrieving your username and password

Select the ‘Forgot your username or password’ link under the ‘Log in’ button.

Follow the instructions on the ‘Let’s find your account’ page. Enter the email address you used for the Pūtake account.

You will get an email about how to reset your password.

Access for contractors

If you are a contractor who needs to access Pūtake to fulfil your role, we can give you the appropriate access.

Once your contract ends, we will remove access.
