The process of developing the dance presented for assessment of this standard should be observed closely by the teacher, but it is the final dance product itself that is the basis for the assessment. Only this final version of the dance needs to be submitted for moderation.
For Excellence the final dance must communicate, refine and synthesise ideas in response to a dance question or challenge set by the teacher. Synthesising of ideas is seen in the integration of ideas into a new whole. This is typified by unity, contrast and climax, and abstraction.
