Use the online form to submit a review report for a micro-credential or training scheme

Use this online form for the review of:

  • micro-credentials listed and approved from mid-January 2023 (reviewed every 1, 2 or 3 years)
  • micro-credentials approved before mid-January 2023 (reviewed annually), or
  • courses formerly approved as training schemes.

Please complete a separate review report for each micro-credential or former training scheme.

When you don't need this form

You do not need to complete a review if:

  • you enrol international students into your former training scheme and it is more than 12 weeks duration, or
  • it is English language tuition or basic first aid related.

Workforce Development Councils may need to contact accredited providers to help in answering 3.1 to 3.3 and 3.5.

Micro-credentials listed and approved from mid-January 2023

Please note

  • A letter of support from the relevant WDC is not required for changes to the details of an existing micro-credential listed and approved since mid-January 2023, but you typically need WDC support for new micro-credentials.
  • Changes to a micro-credential’s listed details and its approved content may result in a new version of the micro-credential. If the micro-credential is used in a programme, this may affect that programme.

The listed and approved micro-credential will be designated expiring for a period of typically two years before being removed from the NZQCF (discontinued).

No new enrolments are permitted.

The micro-credential or former training scheme will be retired and removed from the NZQCF.

Please request support from the relevant WDC for listing a micro-credential and apply to NZQA for a micro-credential change.

Wānanga don't need WDC support for a micro-credential (see section 367 of the Education and Training Act 2020). In general, wānanga only need WDC support if the micro-credential is in an industry within the scope of one or more of the WDCs.
