Registered providers can make applications online
NZQA-recognised tertiary education organisations can make applications online. These organisations are:
- Workforce Development Councils
- Te Pūkenga - New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology
- wānanga
- NZQA-registered private training establishments
- government training establishments.

Applications in progress
You can start an application and return to it later. Any sections you have completed are saved. Incomplete applications will appear in your Applications in Progress table.
Click Edit to continue working on an application. Return to this page in future to track the status of your application.
When you click Submit Application, your application will appear in the TEO applications table. You can view or withdraw your completed application. After the application is allocated to an Evaluator, please contact them if you need to make changes or withdraw the application.
Once an outcome has been reached, your application will shift to the Completed Applications table.
The application process
There are restrictions on the number and types of characters you can use when submitting applications online. There should be less than 1,000 characters per box.
Avoid bullet points, commas, hyphens, slashes, semi-colons, colons, brackets and special characters.
When you submit your application, you'll receive an email with an NZQA reference number. Use this number if you need to email or speak to a member of staff about your application.
You will be invoiced on a regular basis for ongoing work on your application. Current fees are published on the fees page:
