In May 2025, a new Level 6 Whānau Ora qualification was listed.
This qualification was developed to create a clear progression pathway from the existing Level 3, 4, and 5 qualifications.

NZQA Māori Qualifications Services (MQS) invites feedback on the review of the suite of Kaupapa Māori Public Health qualifications at Levels 4-6 and Te Tūāpapa Hei Whai I te Ao Mārama (Level 4).
As the qualification developer, we want to ensure that the qualifications remain current, relevant, purposeful and valuable to current and future learners, employers, whānau, hapū, iwi and other stakeholders.
