Review update
NZQA Māori Qualifications Services (MQS) invites feedback on the review of the suite of Māori Business and Management qualifications.
Proposed changes across the qualifications
Level 3 qualification
The credits reduced from 60 to 45 based on provider feedback, to address lower completion for the 60-credit qualification, and to facilitate a smoother transition into Level 4. This change aims to make the qualification more appealing for providers and allows reduced timeframes and flexibility for completion.
Strategic Purpose Statements
Minor adjustments made to align with relevant graduate level descriptors
Graduate Profile Outcomes (GPOs)
Updates across the suite include the amendments of mātāpono, the application of new verbs where appropriate, and minor amendments for clarity and relevance in a Māori business setting

What's next?
Māori Qualifications Services will review all feedback received as part of the consultation and use it to inform any further amendments to the documents.
The qualifications will then be submitted to NZQA Quality Assurance Māori for evaluation through Te Hono o Te Kahurangi (THoTK).
